Barbados, Jan 29, 2017 - TTEK, a trailblazer in advanced technology and services for the optimization of customs processing, announced today that Brent Patten has been appointed as Chief Services Officer (CSO).
Patten is an innovative and results-focused executive with almost 27 years’ experience leading dynamic border and public safety organizations with a focus on strategic management solutions, national security, risk management, and border issues. During his career with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and Public Safety Canada, he worked on and led some of the most transformative and important files such as in his roles as Director of the CBSA’s Task Force for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, Manager of the CBSA’s first Marine Cargo Targeting unit at its National Targeting Centre, and as Director of the Commercial Programs Division at National Headquarters.
In this new role, Brent will be responsible for leading TTEK planning, delivery and coordination of its international border consulting services focussing on Risk Management, Single Window, and other Customs Modernization projects. He will lead recruitment, contracting and quality control for TTEK’s team of industry-leading experts as they work to deliver customized international solutions to meet the most challenging mission needs.

Brent started his career as a front-line Customs Inspector in Nova Scotia, Canada and has worked in many different areas of Customs and border management including training, marine targeting and examination, policy development, project management, detection technology, corporate services, capacity building, trade facilitation and national program oversight. Brent is an ASIS International Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP-C) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
